Hang Nadim International Airport : ウィキペディア英語版 | Hang Nadim Airport
Hang Nadim International Airport , also known as Bandara Internasional Hang Nadim, is located in Batam, Riau Islands, Indonesia. Named after Laksamana Hang Nadim, it is the only international airport in Riau Islands province. It has the second longest runway in Southeast Asia, after Kuala Lumpur International Airport, at 4,210 m long. ==History== Originally developed as an alternative for Singapore Changi Airport (should an emergency force a redirect for aircraft), Hang Nadim has facilities sufficient for Boeing 747s, Boeing 777s and Airbus A380s, including the longest runway in Indonesia. It can also serve several times more passengers than it is currently serving. Lion Air has developed a base at the airport and built an aircraft maintenance facility, as Jakarta's Soekarno–Hatta International Airport is severely congested. At end of May 2014, Hang Nadim International Airport became the sixth airport in Indonesia (after Sultan Hasanuddin Airport in Makassar, South Sulawesi; Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali; Soekarno–Hatta International Airport in Jakarta; Juanda International Airport in Surabaya, East Java; and Kuala Namu International Airport in Medan, North Sumatra) to operate 24 hours a day. The move was the result of many airlines making the airport a hub for their operations.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Batam airport set to operate 24/7 )〕
